Game On!
San Jose Tech Museum of Innovation
September 30, 2005 - January 2, 2006
I went to the Tech Museum in San Jose, CA to see the Game On! exhibit.
I have enjoyed it a lot! Game On! exhibit displayed the history of video games. Here, the first part of the exhibit which you first see when you walk in is the arcade games, all of which you can play execpt for Computer Space (two of them!), the world's first commercially sold arcade game, and Pong. It was my first time seeing those two games in person! They also have old computer, DEC PDP-1 which was used to develop Spacewar! game.
The arcade games
The second part of the exhibit had many different old game consoles ranging from Magnavox Odyssey to Playstation to Dreamcast on display, almost all of them playable.
The third and final part of the exhibit contained booths containing the information of history of some of the well known games such as Grand Theft Auto, Tomb Raider, and Max Payne. This part of exhibit also have old electronic games on display which some of them playable and two unplayable arcade games. Poly Play which was behind display glass and Maneater which had broken second joystick. The last few pictures shows an arcade game Galaxian and informative display of video game, Max Payne. Both of which was not displayed within Game On! exhibit but just outside the Tech Museum cafe store.
